Wayfair is launching a new tool for a growing customer base: professionals.

An extension of Wayfair Professional, a B2B business which serves professional furniture buyers and saw double-digit growth in Q2, My Projects is a platform for integrating project management, design services, and purchasing into a centralized hub.

Margaret Pierson, chief commercial officer at Wayfair Professional, said in a statement the tool will help customers “plan, collaborate, and deliver with ease—saving time and reducing costs.”

The novelty of the offering, according to Wayfair, is that it combines project management tools with its sourcing platform, making it possible to switch between workflows seamlessly.

More than 6,700 professionals participated in the pilot from across different industries, including property managers and design studios.

The platform will now be available to all Wayfair Professionals for no additional cost.

“I can curate products into collections, track deliveries against milestones, and collaborate seamlessly with my team and clients—all in one place,” Wayfair Professional Tastemaker Melissa Herriott told the company.

  • Wayfair launched its Tastemakers program last year. Now it works directly with influential names in the interior design world to curate and promote products.

The platform was developed in house. The increased focus on proprietary technology appears to be a point of pride for the retailer. In a recent earnings call, CEO Niraj S. Shah touted Wayfair’s 2,500-person technology organization, including data scientists, designers, and project managers. “We build a tremendous amount of our own technology,” he said.

Earlier this year, the company released a new AI-powered application called Muse, which generates inspirational photos and scenes to help customers plan their purchases.

Wayfair’s business model has shown resilience in the current macroeconomic climate, driving sales while keeping prices low and inventory light in the face of tariffs.
