CES, the world’s biggest technology trade show, is all set to roll out its red carpet in Las Vegas this week. The conference will take place from Jan. 7–Jan.10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center amid scores of gadgets on display.
As usual at this year’s show, there will be a section of panels and discussions focused on how technology (read: AI) can transform the retail sector. Here’s what retailers can expect at technology’s big show hosted by the Consumer Technology Association.
A panel called “Retail Technology Transformation: Online, AI, Social, In-Store” will kick off the retail track at CES on Monday. Attendees will hear about how innovation will be at the heart of the retail revolution both online and in-store. Pinterest VP for Retail Partnerships Carrie Sweeney is among the speakers on the panel.
On Tuesday, Pinterest CTO Matt Madrigal will be hosting a keynote on why brands need to show up on platforms that encourage discovery through visual search.
Plus, Pinterest will again be welcoming attendees to the famous Blue Ribbon Restaurant at The Cosmopolitan. The space will feature an interactive Collage Studio to try Pinterest’s new collaging feature. Pinterest will also have a Funnel Vision slot machine where guests can take a spin for a chance to win prizes.
Retail programming at CES will also include a panel discussion on “AI’s Role in Shaping the Future of Media.” Guests will hear from experts including Paul Longo, GM of AI in Ads, at Microsoft. The talk will focus on the latest tech driving innovation in advertising and how AI can drive media performance. This could be a hot session for those in the retail community, given how quickly advertising is becoming a critical revenue source for retailers.
Other notable sessions include “Putting AI to work at retail” and “Robots at Retail” on Wednesday. The same day, CES will host another talk on “Shopping in the Immersive/Metaverse: Are We There Yet?” Top executives from Roblox and Snapchat will talk about blending physical and digital shopping experiences.
In between perusing halls at CES, attendees can also catch retail bigwigs like Molly Battin, SVP and CMO at The Home Depot, and Harvey Ma, VP and general manager at Sam’s Club, talking about marketing and the future of commerce media, respectively.
