It’s Indigenous Peoples Day, and while many are enjoying the federal holiday at home, major retailers such as Target and Walmart remain open. That means the holiday shopping season can continue apace, even as a number of sales events timed to line up with Prime Day wrap up.

Here’s what else is going on in retail this week:

In data releases: The consumer price index for September drops on Wednesday. The measure saw a slight uptick in August, and economists are expecting the September report to show inflation still stubbornly elevated, as tariffs raise costs across the economy. Next up, on Thursday, retail sales for September are coming out, and on that front at least there could be some good news for the industry. Sales were up in August, as consumers ramped up their spending across categories.

In conferences: The Retail Supply Chain & Logistics Expo is coming to Las Vegas this week. Industry leaders will share insights and best practices for “streamlining logistics, enhancing efficiency, and improving customer satisfaction.” Supply chain leaders from retailers and brands such as Amazon, Nordstrom, and PepsiCo will be speaking at the two-day conference.

In speaking events: Sam Kim, CEO of Lotte Retail, Korea’s largest retailer, is speaking at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday about the company’s recent partnerships and new retail formats. The event is being put on by the Baker Retailing Center, a clearinghouse for global retail knowledge and education.

In earnings: Coming in well after most retailers released their earnings results, Albertson is reporting Q2 numbers on Tuesday. The national grocery chain had a strong first quarter, with sales and earnings coming in higher than expected. Its success reportedly was the result of growth in pharmacy, digital platforms, and loyalty programs.
