The October sales events continue this week with deal days from Amazon and Wayfair. For two weeks starting today, the e-commerce giant is discounting thousands of beauty products. Then early next week, Wayfair is running Way Day—its “biggest sale of the year,” according to the home decor retailer—starting on Sunday.

Here’s what else is going on in retail this week:

In earnings: Toymakers Mattel and Hasbro are reporting their Q3 earnings this week, giving retail watchers a look at how a key category is faring headed into the holidays. As Retail Brew previously reported, the toy industry is struggling with tariff-induced cost pressures, and some experts predict shortages in the months ahead. In addition, Mattel recently announced a partnership with OpenAI to develop products using artificial intelligence. While details were sparse about how precisely it will use the technology, the company could shine some light on the news during its earnings call.

In conferences: The Shop! Ideation Conference & Retail Challenge is coming to Providence, Rhode Island. The event is aimed at producers, suppliers, designers, brand owners, and other retail professionals who will compete “head-to-head in an interactive onsite design project.” Speakers include executives from SNIPES and Mamava.

In webinars: PYMNTS is hosting a live roundtable on how “real-time payments and embedded finance are turning every interaction into a transaction.” The discussion will touch on fraud, generative AI, and other topics. Speakers include Tom Poole, SVP of digital payments at Capital One, and Chris Palumbo, chief risk officer at Citadel Credit Union.
