So much has happened in fashion over the past few days, it’s hard to keep track. So we’ve put together a brief overview of three things you really need to know.

Prada goes on a hiring spree in Italy

Luxury goods brand Prada announced last week that it plans to hire more than 400 workers in Italy by the end of 2023. The decision is part of the company’s larger strategy to enhance its production capacity and grow its manufacturing plants in central Italy. Prada will train many of its new hires at its professional craft academy.

Dior’s glamorous visit to Mumbai

Dior chose Mumbai as the scenic setting for its pre-fall collection late last week. Alongside several Bollywood celebrities, international stars like Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid made appearances.

One of the highlights of the show was Dior’s work with Mumbai-based Chanakya School of Craft. Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director of Dior women’s wear, incorporated designs created by the school’s female students. The show also signified India’s growing relevance in the global luxury market.

Dolce & Gabbana’s grand real estate plans

Dolce & Gabbana is reportedly opening a line of deluxe condos in Miami and Marbella, and a hotel in the Maldives. The brand has joined forces with developers including JDS Development Group, Sierra Blanca Estates, and DarGlobal.

D&G is hardly the first luxury label to take a crack at the real estate game. The brand follows in the footsteps of Roberto Cavalli, Bulgari, Armani, and others that have been in the hospitality space for a while and operate luxury hotels and restaurants. So the only question is: Which brand will you choose next time you go on vacation?—JS
