Hello, and welcome back to your favorite weekly column where we scour the depths of the internet and newly dropped company press releases to find you the weirdest of them all…just for your entertainment of course.

This week, a diner at a restaurant in Singapore was shocked after receiving a check for $1,000…for crab. Meanwhile, some Fanta drinkers in the US are up in arms over the artificial color of the drink.

  • One tourist dining at a Singapore seafood restaurant called the police after being charged $1,000 for “a little bit of crab.
  • Fanta drinkers are freaking out about the extra neon color of the drink in the US compared to its more muted looking counterpart in Europe that comes with less artificial additives.
  • Kraft is recalling over 83,000 cases of Kraft Singles American Cheese after determining consumers could potentially choke on it.

And our loyal newsletter readers will remember one very odd but possibly believable (?) bit of news that alas, we must come clean and tell you…we made up. We said that a Canada-based alternative meat company is being sued for adding bits of actual lizard skin to its products, which the company claims was for “enhancing texture.” We’re no plant-based food company, but we’re pretty sure ardent vegans and vegetarians are not OK with consuming lizard.
