We crossed another TBD CEO off our list this month. Following in the footsteps of Kroger, Lululemon, and LL Bean—who all named their new CEOs this year—7-Eleven announced its new chief exec this month. Here’s more on that, and other July retail exec moves:
- Seven & i Holdings Co. picked Mauricio Levya, a former Keurig Dr Pepper exec, as CEO of 7-Eleven Inc., leading its US business. He fills the role vacated by Joseph DePinto, who retired at the end of 2025 and also joined Target’s board of directors this month.
- After facing backlash over her decision to modernize its logo last year, Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino is exiting her role next month. She’ll be replaced by David Deno, former CEO of Outback Steakhouse owner Bloomin’ Brands.
- Kering named Romain Spitzer, CEO of Fragrance Group LVMH Beauty, as CEO of Bottega Veneta, after its CEO Bartolomeo Rongone left to lead Moncler in March.
- Continuing executive changes under new CEO John Furner, Walmart’s US COO Kieran Shanahan is leaving his role, set to be succeeded by Walmart International COO Kyle Kinnard.
- Brown-Forman CEO Lawson Whiting, who has led the Jack Daniel’s maker since 2019, plans to step down once the company finds a successor.
- Cody Plofker, CEO of beauty brand Jones Road and son of founder Bobbi Brown, is departing his role, writing on Linkedin he’d “rather be building funnels and running ads than managing people and dealing with various BS that comes with being CEO.”
- Macy’s-owned Bluemercury tapped former L’Oréal exec Alex Choueiri as its new CEO, succeeding Maly Bernstein, who exited the beauty retailer for Bath & Body Works last year.
- Ulta Beauty appointed Domino’s CTO Kelly Garcia as its new CTO. Garcia will exit his role on Ulta Beauty’s board to take on the new role.
- Skippy peanut butter owner Hormel Foods announced president John Ghingo will serve as its new CEO, taking over for interim CEO Jeffrey Ettinger.
- Nordstrom brought on Brooke Bobb, fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar, as VP and fashion director.
- J.Crew Group named Dyson exec Kathleen Van Nest Pierce to the newly created brand president role at J.Crew.
- Best Buy shared a number of exec promotions ahead of its upcoming CEO shift, including Frank Bedo as chief strategy and growth officer and Patrick McGinnis as chief revenue officer.
