From fashion brands and a French department store to makers of chocolate and cranberries, retail executives were on the move in June. Here are the major changes to know:
- Heineken named Rafael Oliveira, CEO of Peet’s Coffee owner JDE Peet’s, as its next CEO, starting October 1, as the beer giant looks to reignite fizzling alcohol sales.
- Versace CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger has exited the fashion company after leading it since 2022, with a successor yet to be announced.
- Grocery giant Ahold Delhaize US named Claire Peters, VP for worldwide fresh at Amazon, as its new CEO, effective September 8. She fills the role vacated by JJ Fleeman, who will join Dollar General as CEO on January 1.
- Kohl’s tapped Elliott Rodgers, former Foot Locker COO and Ulta Beauty executive, as its next COO, effective September 9.
- Kering announced Alexander McQueen’s next CEO will be Gianfranco D’Attis, former chief executive of the Prada brand, as the fashion label hopes to jumpstart slumping sales.
- Hershey brought on Heather Hoytink, SVP and chief commercial officer of PepsiCo’s away-from-home beverage unit, as its US president. The appointment comes after Andrew Archambault stepped down suddenly in April after being promoted to the role a month prior.
- French department store Printemps, which expanded to the US last year, filled the CEO role that’s been open since September, appointing Zadig & Voltaire CEO Rémy Baume as its next leader.
- Target named Isaac Mizrahi to the newly created creative director at large role after first collaborating with the designer in 2002. He’ll advise on its in-house design, focusing largely on fashion and home, along with food and wellness.
- Ocean Spray Cranberries hired Nestlé Health Science CEO Abigail Buckwalter as its president and CEO.
- After Co-Founder Jennifer Hyman stepped down as CEO, president, and board member last month, Rent the Runway brought on two new execs. It tapped former Saks Off 5th CEO Paige Thomas as its chief commercial officer and former The Honest Company CFO Dave Loretta as interim CFO.
- California supermarket chain Gelson’s named Koichi Toyo, an exec at parent company Pan Pacific International Holdings, as president and CEO, as its most recent leader Ryan Adams departs.
