Best Buy is expanding its loyalty program by introducing reward points for members of its paid My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total subscriptions starting June 4. “More than 80% of customers want to earn points when they shop at Best Buy,” according to a press release for the company announcing the program.

“For today’s shoppers, rewards play a meaningful role in deciding where to shop,” Jennie Weber, chief marketing officer at Best Buy, said in the statement. “Our customers have been clear about what they want from us: reward points, convenience, and exclusive benefits.”

Plus and Total members will earn 1% back in rewards on qualifying items and 6% back in rewards when using a Best Buy credit card.

Best Buy revamped its loyalty program in June 2023 into three tiers—free, My Best Buy Plus, and My Best Buy Total—aimed at offering more flexible perks and pricing. The update replaced its original subscription program, called TotalTech, which it introduced in 2021.

Best Buy’s Plus and Total members will be able to track their points in a new digital hub online and on the app, and they’ll also see their available rewards in their cart and at checkout.

According to Deloitte’s 2026 loyalty survey, generational differences show that younger consumers are more likely to redeem rewards quickly compared to their older counterparts.

However, 40% of respondents across all ages reported that they sometimes forget to redeem their rewards.

The survey, published in January, also found that personalized rewards, faster points accumulation, and real-time tracking are significantly more appealing to Gen Z.
