The fall season is kicking off this week with a clash of titans. Walmart, Target, and Amazon are all running sales events in what is arguably the opening salvo of the longer holiday season. Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Deal Days both take place over 48 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday, while Walmart’s Deal Days starts today and runs through Sunday.

Which retailer will win the fall? Q3 just wrapped, so we won’t have the whole picture until companies report their Q4 results next year.

In the meantime, here’s what else is going on in retail this week:

In earnings: Two beverage giants report Q2 earnings this week, starting with Modelo-maker Constellation Brands on Tuesday and then PepsiCo on Thursday. While the former overhauls its beer strategy with a greater focus on brand-specific marketing, the latter plans to raise prices on chip brands to keep pace with inflation. The price hikes follow price cuts on select brands earlier this year, when the company faced backlash from consumers over the cost of its products.

In webinars: The Food Industry Association in partnership with RELEX Solutions is hosting a webinar on Wednesday to discuss how grocery chains are using AI to orchestrate their supply chains, “moving beyond siloed tools to achieve true end-to-end fresh orchestration, connecting stores and supply chain on a single platform,” per the event details.

In product rollouts: The Home Depot’s Holiday Decor collection hits stores today, marking another early seasonal rollout from a major retailer. Best Buy also launched its holiday gifting center last month to give customers ample time to prepare for the biggest shopping season of the year.
